The following talks are currently available with GirlTalk Ministries:

“The Girl in the Mirror”

This message is for middle and high school girls. Every little girl dreams of being beautiful! Is the desire for beauty sinful or God given? God sees beauty differently than the world. Denna encourages girls to ask themselves, “Whose approval or judgment is really more important to me…God’s or man’s?” When girls look in the mirror, it is the light of Christ that should be reflected there.

2 Cor 3:18 “We all with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord”

Denna provides each girl with practical steps for maintaining the temple, a “Looks Rater” Quiz and a poem she wrote especially for them entitled, “The Girl in the Mirror”.

“The Way of Character”

This message is ideal for girls aged 8 to 80! Character is an important issue for women of all ages, but particularly for the young girl because she is in the stage of “becoming”. Denna challenges girls to have a plan for the young woman they want to become. In order to do that a girl must investigate the character of the One and Only perfect “role model”, Christ Himself! Understand your own personality strengths and weaknesses and discuss their potential pitfalls. Are you a “Chatty Kathy”, a “Fretful Felicia”, or a “Jealous Jane”? Learn to combat cultural attacks on your character by becoming a “Spirit-filled Girl”!

“Strength Under Submission: The Essence of Christian Womanhood”

This message is ideal for the college and young career women. Living the Christian Life in a fallen world is filled with difficulties. What does it really look like to be a Christian Woman in the face of these challenges…dating, cohabitating, marriage, family, and career. Is submission really required for today’s educated young woman? If so, how can we submit to our husband, boss, or authority figure without becoming a ‘doormat’? Learn that a woman’s real strength comes from Christ and this assurance is the source of her true power. Understand the peace and blessing that come from following God’s design for womanhood.

“Shaped Like a Vessel”

This message is for women of all ages. God uses the most unlikely people to carry out His plans. Moses, King David, Queen Esther, even a small baby born in a manger. Although we may look and feel quite ordinary on the outside, God assures us that He has a unique purpose for each of our lives.

2 Cor 4:7 “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.”

Without the power of Christ, there is no eternal purpose for our lives. We are left to run through this world filling our days with foolish activity. See yourself as the beautiful vessel you were created to be. Remove the ungodly things from your life and seek Christ with your whole heart. Then you will stand in awe as your vessel overflows with the River of Life!

“Girls as God Intended”

This talk is a special message just for Mom. It is a hard time to raise a girl and an even harder time to be a girl! It seems our Mothers’ liberation has been translated into our daughter’s sexualization. What does it mean to be feminine? How do we grasp this as Mothers and how do we pass it on to our daughters? How important is home-life to a young girl? Does Daddy really matter? How does your own marriage speak to your daughter's hopes for the future? Take a glimpse at Creation and hear how a tender little girl forms her sense of self. We may be raising our daughters in a hostile and unlovely culture, but take heart, with God’s truth, we can combat the lies that are thrown at our daughters and at ourselves!

“12 Things I Know for Sure”

This is a casual and personal message from Denna for women of all ages.

“Life is a search for perfect love and endless beauty. We are always striving to create our own little Edens…yet life is never as beautiful and relationships are never as satisfying as we desire.”

“The strongest drive I have at this point is to be found blameless…not perfect, but blameless…these are different things. The World says we should live with no regrets, this deals with the things we do or don’t do in this life. Being blameless deals with a sanctified heart.”

Follow along as Denna discusses these and other observations she has made along her own Christian Journey. Enjoy as she shares several personal poems that speak to these thoughts.

At the end of her rope, she surrenders her idol, her child, to God and gives Him the reigns. This continuing journey has resulted in a wonderful young man, a changed heart, and a beautiful poem entitled, “Here I am”.

This talk is for adult women. Life is a Journey, but not always the one we planned on taking. This message deals with the power to move forward in difficult times. Learn life skills to stay focused when things get tough. What are the things that lead women to the point of exhaustion? Even when we feel powerless, God has given us dominion over our minds, bodies, and spirits. Rule your Domain with Confidence from the Holy Spirit. “He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak…those who hope in the Lord renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
Is 40:29-31
